Illuminas & Nokia present paper at Esomar Annual Congress
John Connaughton, CEO Illuminas and Dave Riley, Nokia presented a paper entitled ‘The Green Shoots of Technology – Nokia’s Response to the demand for Eco-Friendly Brands’ at the recent ESOMAR Annual Congress The paper outlined the link between attitudes and behaviour towards environmental issues amongst consumers in 13 developed and developing countries, and compared results using a specially developed ‘Green Index’. They discussed the degree to which consumers recycle everyday goods, such as paper, glass and plastics, and where mobile phones stand in relation to other consumables. It also looked at how Nokia – the world’s leading provider of mobile phones – attempted to minimise its impact on the environment and how it responded to the views of consumers worldwide to make their products more environmentally responsible.
